I'm pleased with everything ab ut switching to this elecctric mower except the nuisance of holding the cord with one hand while mowing with the other for fear of driving over my extension cord.

I never could start a regular mower so I had been paying someone to cut the grass now I can save that money and do it myself. The mower is ready to go right from the box, once unpacked, all you do is tighten the bolts on the handle and you do not even need a tool to do that. I love the one touch height adjustment, it is so easy. I can get this mower around the bushes and under the trees without a problem.

I love the idea of an electric mower. I love the quiet, the lack of gas smell, no worry about kids and gas cans, no pull cords, easy handling and height adjusting, and light weight. I have gotten used to mowing around a cord practically without a second thought, even with trees. But I have owned two of these mowers in the last 8 years and the one thing I know is that they are Black and Decker, which means like all of their products that I have ever owned, you will be lucky if they last 5 years.

Because of this I am constantly shocked at how well they are rated. It makes me really wonder about the ones they rate lower. Or do they simply not test for durability? The plastic parts break constantly and need replacing every other year, and that's if you can find a place to repair them in your state. Forget it if you live in places like Montana or Wyoming. The other down side is that they don't do well if you let the grass grow. More than 8 days and you will have to go over it at least twice.

So I am still looking for a reliable electric mower, because I really cannot afford to shell out $300 every 5 years and keep replacing this one. This simply isn't reliable.
