If you like buying a $12 dollar filter every month go for it.. But the wicking action slowly deteriorates over about 3 weeks... Your first week is great and by the time you get to the 3rd week, it can barely keep any moisure in the home as the wicking action is non existant. And no its not a single bad filter.. all 3 I have purchased did the same thing... Find one that has a positive wetting from dripping down rather than wickinig up... That was a waste of over $100

I purchased the HCM-6012i for use as my home's main floor humidifier. I moved my old 2003 Vornado HU1-0013-11 to my bedroom. The Honeywell does not compare well with the Vornado (which is no longer available) and I regret buying the HCM-6012i. I rate it fair, almost a one-star.
Cons:
The HCM-6012i vents horizontally, thus blowing on your legs or furniture.
The water tanks are awkward and do not sit squarely in a sink when refilling. The screw on caps may be too much for weaker hands.
Replacing the water tanks in the humidifier can be clumsy, I've already chipped one tank after one month of use. If not done correctly, the humidifier will vibrate.
Water containers hold less than the Vornado did.
At its quietest fan setting, hums noticeably, even when the tanks are perfectly in place. The Vornado is ultra quiet.
The water sensor will stop the fan before all the water has been wicked out. (I can see how this could be a positive feature, but I don't like the idea of a wet humidifier wick and no air movement)
Pros:
It has casters and is easily moved (on one floor, at least).
Digital humidity readings and settings.

It was extremely hard to open the water tank cap for relfill, and before the end of the first year the tank broke near the cap and started leaking. Lost $120. Piece of crap.
